Local homeschooled children get a chance to show off their scientific minds today.
The Joplin Public Library hosted its Homeschool Science Fair today. The children have worked on their projects for the last two months. The students were given the chance to meet with judges and librarians to share what their conclusions were from their experiments.
“I think it’s a great idea. It kind of gives them the idea to what public school kids are doing, you know, even private school kids are doing as far as a group project or a science fair idea like this. It gets them together where they can think and share their ideas with other people,” says Andrea Schneider.
Common projects made by the students include experiments that focus on different ways of gardening and chemical reactions of different substances.
