Thursday morning a semi tractor trailer attempted to go around the block in a residential neighborhood of Diamond. The semi couldn’t make a turn and took out a power pole and series of lines. Power was affected for hours across the area as the semi was moved to allow it clearance to continue driving and then poles were reset by Liberty Utiltiies. Diamond Area Fire Protection District closed V Hwy/ Market between Pearl Street and US-59 as Riediger Towing did some heavy work. “LU Outage: Crews are currently working to restore an outage in Diamond caused by a vehicle striking a pole. If everything goes as planned, they expect to have all customers back on in approximately 1-2 hours. Crews will also need to open a circuit to replace a pole which will result in another brief outage this afternoon.” When on IG click @joplinnewsfirst then our profile that takes you to our news tab at FSHP. #SafetyFirst #LUOutage @action12news @ksnf16
