ORONOGO, Mo. — Just before 7:45 PM Jasper County Emergency dispatch alerted Oronogo Fire Department to reports of a house fire at 202 Patty Street in Oronogo. As first crews arrived to the scene minutes later, “JASCO, we have got a fully involved fire here.”

Oronogo Fire Department battled the fire with assistance from Webb City Fire Department and Carterville Fire Department.

The residence, in the Webbwood Subdivision, is a total loss. A relative tells us that the couple lost everything in the fire, including their vehicles. However both got out safely. There is a Go Fund Me account stating that they young couple is insured but there are always unexpected expenses.

The fire was declared under control at 8:26 PM. Neighbors tell us they believe it appeared to start in the garage.

Oronogo Fire Department cleared the scene at 10:29 PM. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time. More information on the story will be posted here as it is received from authorities.
