Webb City Police pursuit ends in Royal Heights at a dead end Friday night

Joplin News First

Webb City Police Department update us on this incident early Saturday morning.

Friday, shortly before midnight a Webb City Police Officer on patrol near Zora and Rangeline observed a late model silver Chevy Cavalier with expired tags. As a traffic stop was initiated the subject vehicle did not stop. Instead, it continued east on Zora towards south Hall then traveled north.

Tipsters let us know about the chase when it made it to the Royal Heights Area, traveling south on Florida. It had already completed a big circle through Webb City by then WCPD told us.

People that spoke with us said the Cavalier struck a parked car. Rolla Ave is the dead end street you see in our live video. It’s where the white male abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot.

Joplin Police Department K9 was summoned and a perimeter was set. JPD officers lined the west side of the perimeter along Trenton, Rolla, Zora. Then to the east at the wooded area.
