Van rolls in crash with MAPS bus

No passengers were aboard the MAPS bus at the time of the crash

JOPLIN, Mo — City of Joplin vehicle, MAPS bus, involved in a two vehicle crash just before 8:50 AM Wednesday 13th and Roosevelt. Joplin Fire Department station #2 responded to the crash initially, their location is about a half mile west on West Junge Blvd. 

The MAPS bus did not have any passengers on board at the time of the crash according to Ofc. Lacy Baxter of the Joplin Police Department. 

METS Ambulance transported one person to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

M.A.P.S. stands for: Metro Area Paratransit System. Although it is operated by the city of Joplin, it reaches further than the city limits. MAPS buses also contract service in Oronogo, Webb City, Carl Junction and Carterville.
