UPDATE: I-44 East 5.5 crash Tues, @JoplinPD tells us…

Joplin News First

Don't forget I-44 westbound from Rangeline to Main Street is still one lane and it slows down daily to a crawl. Avoid if possible remind MdDOT SWMO

Captain Nick Jimenez updates us on the crash from Tuesday morning that shut down I-44 east for a time near 5.5 MM. “Three people were transported and all three were non-life threatening injuries.”

All three of the vehicles were pickups oddly. A semi tractor trailer was also involved but no one was injured in that vehicle.

For at least the next month MoDot Southwest Missouri still are funneling westbound I-44 to one lane. Almost daily in the afternoon, worst on the weekend afternoons, Rangeline to Main Street westbound is nearly a standstill.

“One westbound lane is closed at Mile Marker 6 while contractor crews rehabilitate bridge over Shoal Creek,” MoDot State in a press release.

“Drivers are urged to seek alternate routes to avoid the construction and possible traffic delays. Once the both lanes of the westbound bridge are completed, contractor crews will move to the eastbound bridge, August 1,” and traffic will funnel down to one lane on that side!

It never ends does it?
