The flames were out by dawn Saturday at Bykota Trailer Park on East 32nd Street

Joplin News First

Residents at Bykota Trailer Park, 11319 East 32nd Street, tell us it was about 4:25 AM when 911 was called regarding flames seen near the large maintenance building in the middle of the park.

The building was fully engulfed before firefighters arrived from Redings Mill Fire District. Nearly immediately mutual aid was requested of the Joplin Fire Department.  The flames were more than 30 feet high as you can see from our #JLNtipster video from a resident.

Firefighters stayed on the scene for many hours.  Cool temperatures near 41° and 18 mph winds made battling the blaze difficult. However firefighters were able to contain it to the maintenance building and it only spread to one adjacent residential structure.

There were no injuries to residents.  The structures were unoccupied.  No injuries to firefighters either.  The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
