Crash closes I-44 east approaching Sarcoxie

No injuries are thought to be life threatening

JASPER COUNTY, Mo. — About 8:30 PM a serious crash on I-44 east at 26.8 MM was reported to involve three or more vehicles. The eastbound lanes were completely blocked with disabled vehicles.

Sarcoxie Rural Fire Department, Jasper County Sheriff’s Deputies, numerous medical units responded. First to the scene was Sarcoxie Police Department providing assistance outside their city. The Missouri State Highway Patrol and MoDOT Emergency Response were notified.

All eastbound traffic was diverted at exit 26, MO-37, beginning immediately after the crash.

All lanes of traffic were opened around 9:30 PM.

It’s unknown the extent of injuries suffered by occupants, however none are thought to be life threatening.
