Pickup Rolls in Duquesne DWI Crash

UPDATE: Wednesday morning Duquesne Police Chief Tommy Kitch tells us the adult male driver was cited for DWI.


DUQUESNE, Mo. — Just before 11:30 PM Tuesday night Jasper County Emergency Communications were alerted to a crash near 10th and South Duquesne, in Duquesne.

Duenweg Fire Department, Duquesne Police Department and METS ambulance responded. Joplin Police Department were requested to assist.

First report as DVFD arrived, “single vehicle on its side, we’ll be out to check for injuries.”

The final moments as Santa Fe Towing of Joplin roll pickup back to its wheels.

The Single vehicle crash was a pickup that rolled and struck a Liberty Utility pole, coming to rest in the ditch of the NW corner. Liberty was contacted and responded. It’s unknown if they replaced the pole overnight.

The driver was the only occupant. He was transported with non-life threatening injuries to an area hospital.
