Grain hauler overturns MO-43 near Hornet

Missouri State Highway Patrol tells us the driver was not injured in the crash which occurred shortly before 11:00 AM.

NEWTON COUNTY, Mo. — Shortly before 11:00 AM reports of a traffic crash involving a grain hauler were being received at Newton County Central Dispatch.

Redings Mill Fire, Newton County Sheriff’s Deputies and Newton County Ambulance responded. Missouri State Highway Patrol were notified.

MSG SGT M. Frazier of Troop D tells us the driver of the semi was not injured in the crash.

The semi was traveling south on MO-43 and left the roadway to the west and overturned, losing it’s load.

Santa Fe Towing will remove the grain, upright the semi. It’s unknown how long traffic could be delayed through the area.

Conditions are worsening through the day today. The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for the region.
