Early Sunday morning fire obliterates what little was left since devastating fire March 11

Joplin News First

Pouring down rain and cold as the call went out to Joplin Fire that 10th and Jackson was ‘visible flames’.  10th and Jackson?  Didn’t that burn last month?  Yes it did.  March 11. It didn’t even have a roof anymore.  No one has been living there?

Joplin News First tipsters – more than a dozen – rang the tipline like a bicycle bell on a 3-year-old’s tricycle on Christmas day – ring ring ring!

What was left of the building from the first fire when we arrived was fully engulfed.  Joplin News First live broadcast began at 1:18 AM.  The fire was declared under control at 2:26 AM.

Joplin Fire Department returned shortly after 6:00 AM to extinguish some roof shingles that had rekindled.

No word yet from Joplin Fire Department on the cause of the fire.  However it was thunder and lightning just prior to the fire and a very steady rain during the duration of the battle of the blaze.

THE EVOLUTION OF THE BUILDING FROM 2013 TO NOW
