Carterville Post Office Founded in 1875. Before Route 66 was born, who eventually stole Main Street to be a portion of the Mother Road. Watch their Christmas Parade!

CARTERVILLE, Mo. — The first post Post Office was founded in 1875. That was before Route 66 decided to make Main Street part of the mother road.

Typically, this warning is used to test NOAA Weather Radios, the Emergency Alert System (EAS) and serves as an opportunity for local jurisdictions to test their outdoor warning sirens. However, this year the test Tornado Warning also activated the Wireless Emergency Alert (WEA) system which sends alerts to many cellular devices. When this WEA alert was issued, there was no wording indicating this was a test Tornado Warning. We have started an investigation into why the WEA system was activated. Darrell Peak, 40, told Miami, Oklahoma, casino workers last Wednesday he was withdrawing money and starting over with his kids. Now less than a week later they are dead. “We are saddened to report the identities of the bodies located in rural Benton County have been identified as: Kaiden Peak, 4 years old; Mayson Peak, 3 years old; & Darrell Peak, 40 years old.”
