Joplin Elks donates $1,000 to the American Heart Association

A local hospital gets a generous donation from the Joplin Elks today.

The Elks were at Mercy Hospital Joplin to donate a one thousand dollar check to the American Heart Association. The organization raised the money through breakfasts the Elk’s host each weekend. For them, it’s just a part of what they stand for.

“I’m very proud. Very proud of both association. With Mercy of Joplin and with the Joplin Elks Lodge,” says Don Cook, Mercy Cath Lab, RN.

“One of the mottos of the Elks is; Elks care Elks share. And so doing things like this is very integral to our mission. And we are happy to do something locally that benefits local citizens,” says William Lynch, Joplin Elks Exalted Ruler.

The group raised money for the association because of Cook’s close relationship with the hospital.
