A new set of Joplin history guides are now available for people in the area.
The guides were delivered to the Convention and Visitors Bureau inside City Hall today. The books are filled with details of the many historic homes, buildings, and people in the area.
CVB director Pat Tuttle says his office had run out of the most recent guides which were printed back in 2003. He says a lot has happened between then and now, including the 2011 tornado, which is a subject many visitors to the area are interested in.
“There are some minor details about the tornado, some of the more significant numbers are in there, some things from Empire, Joplin Schools and the Chamber so it’s not just about the city side but the whole impact the tornado had,” says Patrick Tuttle.
Beginning next week, you’ll be able to pick one up at no charge at the CVB as well as the Joplin Library and the Joplin History and Mineral Museum.
