Joplin committee passes proposed medical marijuana production regulations to Joplin City Council

The city of Joplin is getting the regulations of medical marijuana production ready.

Monday in the Planning and Zoning Committee meeting, the proposed regulations were presented. The amendment says there will be four facilities created: cultivation, manufacturing, testing, and dispensary.

They will be allowed in commercial, agriculture, and manufacturing districts, but cannot be located within 1,000 feet of schools and churches.

Hours will be restricted to 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. and everything must be done within a secure facility.

The committee passed the proposed regulations to the city council. It will be presented to them next week for approval.
