Joplin business owners reach out to help victims of Hurricane Harvey

As Tropical Storm Harvey continues to plague southeast Texas, some local business owners are making an effort to help victims of the storm.

Through September 9th, Hideout Harley Davidson will be collecting donations for those impacted by Hurricane Harvey. Rather than food or water, collectors will be accepting cash or new items such as toiletries, blankets, and clothes. On the 10th, all of the donations will be taken down to churches in the Texas area.

“It’s about giving back. It’s just about giving. I mean, we’ve all heard that it’s more blessed to give than receive, I firmly do believe that and I believe Joplin believes that also. It’s just a great area so I look forward to seeing everybody as they come in,” says Hideout Harley General Manager Steve Lippert.

Sidelines Sports Bar and Grill will also be collecting items for the Hideout Harley group, but Lippert hopes other businesses will get involved as well.
