Making the transition from military to civilian life as seamless as possible is one of the goals of the annual Veterans Summit in Joplin.
This is the 11th year for the event, which is sponsored by the Small Business Development Center. It’s tailor made for veterans who want to be their own boss.
“We like to have this program to make veterans, especially veteran business owners, find all the services that are available to them. It’s also a time for them to network with each other and to find out how they can sell goods and services to each other,” said Karen Bradshaw, Small Business and Development Center.
Bradshaw says this is an ideal place for veterans to come to and start their own business because the Joplin area, as well as MSSU, are both so veteran friendly.
