News

Several residents in the city of Jay are left without a home, after a tornado hits the area Wednesday night.

There are three homes that are total losses for its homeowners. In addition, several structures throughout the city were damaged with downed power lines and trees. City officials say the tornado hit the north end of Jay. Jay Resident Claud Phillips’ home was devastated, and he and his family are left picking up the pieces.

“It’s very hard to lose all of it because it was my wife’s grandparents place they had handed down to her and everything, and she had a whole lot of their stuff in her house and everything,” says Phillips.

Phillips has spent the day working with family and community members to salvage anything they can preserve.
