Jasper County works to update emergency response tower after spring storms

Spring storms are forcing a Southwest Missouri emergency call center to upgrade parts of its tower.

The Jasper County 911 operation was struck by lightning twice during severe weather in May. That damaged various equipment needed to ensure communications – and prompted the center to make a number of repairs.

The call center is in the process of upgrading its surge protector and hopes to have all work done by Labor Day.
