An investigation is underway after a vacant home in Joplin catches fire earlier this afternoon.
A little before 5 pm, the Joplin Fire Department responded to a house fire on the corner of 8th and Murphy. Smoke could be seen from the rooftop as firefighters were able to get the flames under control. Multiple engines arrived at the home and worked to ensure fire was not still burning on the north end of the home.
Joplin Fire Chief Jim Furgerson says the fire marshal will look at the scene. There were no injuries, and they hope to have a cause by tonight or tomorrow morning.
