Hundreds of people turned out for tonight’s first Thursday art walk in downtown Joplin.
The theme for this month’s event was “Freedom Isn’t Free.”
It was designed to celebrate the American spirit and pay tribute to the military.
As part of the event, the Urban Art Gallery at 511 Main is even hosting a special month long display showing photos of area veterans.
It’s a personal project for the photographer, who’s father served in the military, and was the first subject in the project.
“The Freedom Endeavor is a non-profit which I’ve created to honor and recognize veterans we have all around out in our everyday life that we may not realize,” explained photographer Steve Snyder.
First Thursday art walk runs once a month from March through October from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm.
