Human remains positively identified as missing Miami man

News

Authorities say a body found in Mayes County this week is that of the missing Miami man Mark Rogers.

The Sheriff’s Office says Rogers’ body was found January 16th, west of Langely.

Officials suspected it was him because the clothing found on the body fit the description of what he was last wearing.

A medical examiner in Tulsa confirmed the body’s identity today.

In a Facebook post, the Sheriff’s Office says, “On 1/18/19, the Mayes County Sheriff’s Office was notified that the human remains that were recovered west of Langley on 1/16/19 have been positively identified as Mark Rogers of Miami, who had been missing since December 26, 2018”

The 61-year-old had been missing since December 26th after he disappeared from a mental health facility in Langely.

Investigators and community members put forth many efforts to find him including search teams filled with local residents and officials.
