A woman with a history of criminal activity in southeast Kansas is sentenced to eight months in prison.
The Neosho county, KS county attorney’s office says Birdie Jo Hoaks plead no contest to conspiracy to commit theft earlier this week. She had originally been charged in connection to an incident in August of 2016. Hoaks will serve her sentence through the Department of Corrections. Birdie Jo and her sister Becky have faced numerous charges in the area, including theft charges in Jasper county. Becky is currently serving a sentence in the Oklahoma Department of Corrections.
