Neosho residents take a trip down memory lane to relive some of the city’s cultural practices.
The Newton County Historical Society hosted it’s annual History Alley event today as a part of Neosho’s Fall Festival.
Some of the activities included a petting zoo, a mountainmen camp, old time broom making, and a chuck wagon.
History Alley was started over decades ago so visitors could see what life was life in the 1800’s for many Neosho residents.
“We work very hard here to preserve history and you know to keep it alive. You know our old museum over here to the right uh was built in the 1800’s and this was the sheriff’s home.” says Deanna Booyer, Newton County Historical Museum and Park Director
Booyer says seeing everyone out at the event today makes all the hard work worthwhile.
