High school students learn skills improving a 20 year old bridge

QUAPAW, Okla. - Quapaw High School's FFA students make improvements to a structure more than 20 years old.

They built a walking bridge connecting the parking lot to the high school. The project took about five months to complete for the class of 10 students. The bridge was crumbling and the school district was afraid someone would get seriously hurt. Students say building this was great for preparing them for their future.

"Working together got a little bit better at welding. Basically just having a little bit of fun with it too," says Ike Dauffet, Quapaw FFA Student.

Dauffet says he is hoping this addition will last for another 20 years to benefit the Quapaw community.
