Hailey's Law passes in Missouri Senate

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KOLR10) - Hailey's Law has passed in the Senate Thursday and will now head to the Governor's desk for his signature.

Hailey's Law will set into motion a new way for police to issue Amber Alerts. Instead of eating time by requiring officers to use paper forms or fax numbers for Amber Alerts, the law will allow direct electronic access to the Amber Alert system; saving precious time.

In February 2014, Hailey Owens was abducted and killed by Craig Wood. Wood was sentenced to the death penalty in 2018.
