A well known fighter jet in Grove is getting some much needed attention.
The city is now working to give the jet some sidewalk appeal by working on the landscape. Crews have been running water lines for electricity to surround the sight with lights.
The historic aircraft was flown in the seventies and was brought to the city last spring. Yesterday, a meeting was held to discuss putting in flag poles around the site as well for a walkway.
“The children and the people of tomorrow are going to walk out there and look at this airplane and say you mean a human actually sat in that airplane and flew it without computers,” says Pete Norwood, F4 Phantom Jet Civic Members.
Norwood says the landscaping is low maintenance, however, they have high hopes to expand it. If you are interested in helping community members spearheading the project fund the improvements, you can follow the link we’ve provided here.
