Governor Mike Parson names a Southwest Missouri state representative as the Show Me State’s next state treasurer.
Representative Scott Fitzpatrick says being named to the office is, quote, a tremendous honor. Fitzpatrick was first elected as a state representative in 2012, representing portions of Barry, Lawrence and Stone Counties. During that time, he’s served as chair of the House Budget Committee.
Fitzpatrick will replace fellow Republican Eric Schmitt as treasurer. Schmitt was selected by Governor Parson to become state attorney general following the election of current Attorney General Josh Hawley to the federal Senate.
