Kansas Governor Jeff Colyer is calling for Kris Kobach to recuse himself from giving advice to election officials.
Due to information being gathered over the past two days, Colyer sent a letter to Kobach, asking him to designate the Kansas Attorney General. Colyer says he will serve as a neutral party to ensure the confidence of voting public. Colyer states that Kobach is making public statements that do not coincide with Kansas law about the handling of mail-in or provisional ballots.
“I want them to have the correct advice that everybody can rely on. And I think the attorney general would be the right person to do that,” says Gov. Jeff Colyer.
The governor asks for Kobach’s response by no later than Friday at 9am.
