Goodman home school students put their minds together to make the day special for local veterans.
Students create a menu, go grocery shopping and cook a warm meal for those who served in the U.S. Armed Forces.
They invited veterans to bring in photos or any kind of memorabilia to share with future generations and fellow servicemen.
It also helps the children to create personal relationships with the vets in their small community.
“Well I go to church with George here, he’s nice so. We’re kind of… we have some stuff in common. He plays piano and I play piano,” tells home school student, Emersyn Jordon.
Each child had a specific role in putting on the event, and in the process, learned about historic moments of our nation’s military.
