Sunday was Garfield’s final day of operation. The restaurant was located at the Joplin mall. A sign posted on the front door reads “closed for business”.
We attempted to contact both the restaurant and the parent company, Eateries, Inc., but neither have returned our calls. A Garfield’s restaurant in Bartlesville, Oklahoma has also closed it’s doors, but an independently-owned franchise in Branson is still open for business. Eateries, Inc., which is based out of Edmond, Oklahoma filed for bankruptcy protection in 2009.
