Friends and Family Play Carnival Games to Help Local Elementary

News

Friends and family gather at one local elementary school to raise money for the upcoming school year.

Carterville Elementary held its Third Annual Family Carnival.
With the purchase of a ticket, families enjoyed inflatables, games, hot dogs and hamburgers.
Last year, this event raised seventeen thousand dollars, which went toward extra field trips and classroom supplies.
None of this would be possible without the tremendous community support in Carterville.

“We wanted to invite the community. I don’t know if you saw the sign on Main Street. We’ve got another parent that had a sign put in her front yard, so it’s exciting to see the community come together.” says Jarrett Cook, Elementary Principal

“This community might be small, but they are mighty and every year, they have blown us away and they have stepped up and they have provided everything that we need and more.” says Rosie Swaffal, PTO President

Before the start of today’s carnival, nine thousand dollars had already been raised by the students and community.
