Employees in an area health system roll up their sleeves for the same good cause.
Every other month, the Freeman Health System hosts an employee blood drive. Belinda Belk of the Community Blood Center of the Ozarks says every drive is important, but she says those held during the month of January take on added importance.
“Wintertime is always a challenge with the weather issues and illness, so it’s a challenge to keep the blood supply healthy and strong during this time of the year, so they’re doing some extra efforts today and we really do appreciate their help,” says Belk.
If you live in the Joplin area and you’d like to donate blood, you can do so at CBCO’s office inside the main entrance of Joplin’s Northpark Mall.
