An area health system holds a one stop event for patients living with a common disease.
It was all part of the 10th annual Freeman Health System Diabetes Expo. It featured a host of exhibitors and the products and services they offer, as well as several speakers all aimed at helping residents deal with both type one and two diabetes. Susan Pittman is the Freeman Diabetes Education Coordinator and says many people may have the illness but not know it.
“Feeling extra fatigued, increased thirst, increased urination, things that are not healing well, we definitely want you to get in with a doctor to get a blood test,” says Susan Pittman.
There were even cooking demonstrations with meals designed specifically for people with the disease.
