Freeman Health System Auxiliary donates $10k to help local patients with chronic kidney disease

The Freeman Health System Auxiliary is making an expensive illness a little more affordable for patients.

The auxiliary presented a $10 thousand dollar check to help local dialysis patients with chronic kidney disease. Many dialysis patients can’t hold full time jobs because they have to spend so many hours a week getting treatment.

“And it also can be very difficult for them to afford to purchase the groceries they need for the nutrients they need,” says Paula Baker, Freeman Health System President & CEO.

You too can help dialysis patients make ends meet with the upcoming annual March O’ The Kidney taking place at 8 am Saturday, March 9th at Northpark Mall. Pre-registration is $10 per walker and $15 dollars at the door. For more information call 417-347-8330.
