Daybreak Rotary and the Rotary Club of Joplin sponsors the Four Way Speech Contest.
The contest is the chance for high school students to deliver speeches that address an ethical issue. Their speech should be something from the speaker’s personal experience or knowledge. Today, students from Joplin High School and other private local schools and home schools participated.
“I didn’t think I did very well but apparently I was wrong because I won so that was a surprise,” says Makenna Lewis, College Heights sophomore.
Lewis’ speech was about whistleblowing. She received a four hundred dollar cash prize.
