Fort Smith woman sentenced in teacher’s murder

FORT SMITH, Ark. (KNWA) — A woman from Fort Smith was sentenced today in court for first-degree murder.

Taylor Elkins, 22, was sentenced to 40 years for first-degree murder.

Elkins was found in possession of a red 2013 Ford Focus that belonged to recently deceased William Dubois, Jr.

She was arrested on July 11.

Elkins was found guilty for the murder of Dubois, Jr.

She has been in jail since her arrest in July without bond.
