An area moving company does a different kind of business at a local animal rescue facility.
Director Mary Ann Schlau is used to people dropping in out of the blue at Golden Paw Animal Rescue. During its 20 year history, that’s usually to bring in animals needing a home. But that wasn’t the case today.
“Oh my God it’s Christmas!” says Mary Ann Schlau with Golden Paw Pet Rescue.
That’s her reaction to an entire moving van filled with dog and cat food, kitty litter, cat trees, doggie beds, blankets, toys and a host of other supplies dropped off by the owners of Five Star Moving Company.
“Oh my God it’s awesome, people come through for us, not always like this, but people do come through for us and it just makes me want to be here and do more, and hopefully one day we can double this place,” says Mary Ann Schlau.
Jeannie Wray says it’s the least she and her husband can do for everything Golden Paw has done for area animals over the last two decades.
“Giving back to the community is important to us, we try and do that as much as we can, so animals, it’s a good thing,” says Jeannie Wray with Five Star Moving.
“This time of the year is very tough for us. We have lots of needs and I can’t even believe or begin to tell you how much this means to us to have this brought, this much stuff brought and we will use each and every grain of food and everything that is here,” says Mary Ann Schlau.
