The first medical marijuana facility in Vinita is now open.
Green Cross Dispensary owners say they have been conducting research for about 10 years to learn the procedures of having a medical marijuana business. Co-owners Allison and Park Carter add they are so pleased to now be able to offer it in their own community.
Allison says opioid addiction has become a major problem for people and they are hoping medical marijuana is an alternative so patients can wean themselves off of pain pills. Some of the items they have available include flower, concentrate, edibles, and more.
“Provide more of a one-on-one patient client owner relationships, so if they come in and they find out something they can’t find here, we are writing it down and then were getting with our supplies to try and get that product for them,” says Allison Carter.
“Really I think we can help a ton of Vinita, the taxes are amazing in this business so it’s obviously going to help the city of Vinita for the tax reasons and we’ve had nothing but support,” says Park Carter.
The Carters say in the future they hope to expand their business with more facilities in Oklahoma City and closer to the Grand Lake area.
