President Donald Trump has ordered all federal buildings to close this Wednesday as a sign of respect for former President George H.W. Bush.
President Trump issued the executive order on Saturday, just one day after the passing of the 41st president. It states that all departments and agencies of the federal government will be closed in observance of former President Bush’s death. However, the heads of Federal Departments may choose to remain open for reasons of “national security, defense, or other public need.”
Former President Bush’s funeral is scheduled to take place at the National Cathedral on Wednesday at 11 am Eastern time.
