A Southwest Missouri business works with a Nevada girl to help change the lives of foster kids.
FCS Financial made a donation of $525 dollars to LeA’s Kids this morning. LeA’s Kids provides gift cards to kids in foster care. The organization was started by twelve year old LeAndra Shotts.
She says she started the 501-C-3 as a way to help kids who may be coming into a home with nothing to call their own. Leandra was adopted herself, and says she just wants other kids like her to know that someone cares.
“I just want children to know everywhere that because of the help of our organization and many corporations, their whole community cares for them,” says LeAndra Shotts.
“You hear LeA’s story, and it really touches your heart, and you think of other kids that are going through this same process, and you want to give back as much as you can, and that’s what we’re here for today,” says Allie Irwin, FCS Financial.
FCS Financial makes donations like these through a program allowing employees to donate up to $50 dollars to a local charity that’s then matched by the company. Once a month, one of those charities is then selected for a five hundred dollar donation by FCS Financial.
