Executive Order pushes to employ more Missourians with disabilities

The Missouri Governor is hoping to create a more favorable environment for hiring disabled workers.

Mike Parson signed an executive order today launching the “Model Employer Initiative.”

The project operates in conjunction with the federal Department of Labor to increase the number of employees with disabilities working for the state.

It will include a talent showcase in Jefferson City next month, focusing on workers with physical, mental health, or cognitive disabilities.
