These birds had been nesting on one of Empire’s structures and it actually caught fire and caused severe damage to the lines. That’s when they decided to create a safe place for them with surveillance to ensure they were using it. This, year they have an upgraded camera and even an audio feed.
Empire officials say those are some added features for the thousand who log in to the site.
“Keeping the power on is always a priority for us and making sure were able to do that, providing an alternative nesting site for the birds, has been a plus for everyone,” explained Jason Groshman with Jason Groshman with Empire.
