Emergency repairs to the Howsmon Building are complete and traffic is now able to pass through that area once again.
There were two parts to this repair project at 502 Virginia. One part was to clean up the collapsed part of the Howsmon Building, and the other was to do emergency repairs on the neighboring building’s roof. Now that the structure is in better shape, there could be potential buyers for the property.
“I know there’s been some talk, but nothing concrete yet,” says Bryan Wicklund, Chief Building Official.
The city has been working on this since last may when the roof collapsed.
