Emergency Pet Center in Joplin to close its doors

The Joplin area will soon be without weekend emergency pet care.

According to a post on the company’s Facebook page, the Emergency Pet Center in Joplin will close for good one week from today. Dr. Jennifer Barber says it’s been a struggle to try and keep the facility’s doors open for the past decade due to a lack of staffing on the part of veterinarians from other clinics.

The center’s hours had been from 7pm on Friday nights to 7am Monday mornings.
