A Joplin woman is behind bars after investigators respond to a shooting early Sunday morning.
Officers with the Joplin Police Department were called to 1224 south New Hampshire around 2:15 Sunday morning in response to reported gunshots. Piper Allen, 24, of Joplin, has been arrested for first degree assault and armed criminal action in connection to the shooting. Officer say when they arrived on scene, Luke Coffey, 29, of Joplin, was treated for injuries, and transported to a local hospital. They also tell us the details of the shooting are under investigation and aren’t being released at this time. Officers did say Allen reported the shooting herself.
