What started as an Eagle Scout project for one man has evolved into him continuing his efforts in making a difference in the community.
Ethan Lomshek and his father Roger have been working on revitilizing Pittsburg’s 23rd Street Bike Park.
Over a period of time Ethan and his father, along with a few volunteers, worked to clear posion ivy and brambles that filled the park.
After earning his project he decided that this was a project that would take years to complete.
So, he, alongside his father, have been hard at work.
Roger Lomshek, Tailwind Cyclists Inc., says, “We’ve moved dump trucks and dump trucks full of debris out. The city hauls it out to burn it. Redell Construction gave us a ton of help recently moving some dirt so we can reshape some of the stuff and deal with some erosion problems. Otheriwse, it’s been a whole lot of hand work and chainsaws and shovels.”
Lomshek says they clear the bike park a couple Sundays out of the month.
