A drug conviction that forced a joplin city council member out of office will be wiped from the official record.
Joshua Bard confirms a Newton County judge Monday ruled in favor of expunging the conviction from more than decade ago. He filed his request in January, in an effort to clean his record and clear the way to run for office in the future. Bard was elected to the Joplin council last year, but resigned just a couple of weeks later after questions about whether his conviction made him ineligible.
He says he will run for council next year.
