Dental Opioid Prescription Rule

The Missouri Dental Board creates a new dental opioid prescription rule.

At a recent meeting, the Missouri Dental Board voted unanimously to regulate prescription limits on opioid dosage and the duration of treatment.
This new proposed rule is based on recommendations from the CDC and the American Dental Association.
The CDC says of the 42,000 people that died in 2016 from an opioid overdose, 40% involved a pain reliever.
The Executive Director of the Dental Board applauds the effort the board has made to combat this serious health crisis.
