Crowder holds “head start” program for incoming students

Crowder College holds its first start smart program for incoming spring semester students.

The program helps students and parents get a “jump start” to the semester. Crowder faculty provides information like what to expect and tours of the campus. One student, who is coming back to school after raising her kids, says she feels a lot more comfortable with the layout of the college.

“I felt so lost, but now it’s kind of helped me to put in my mind of where things are, and it makes things easier for me,” says Terry Swearingin.

“It’s really critical for them to get off on the right start. That way they’re ready to go day one, they know where their classes are, they know their login information, and they’re just a step ahead,” says Kali Bard, Business Department Chair.

Classes begin next Tuesday at Crowder College. Students can continue to enroll until next Friday.
